Osceola Schools To Remain Closed Thursday, September 14, and Friday, September 15

Schools remain closed imageDespite efforts to recover and reopen as quickly as possible, all Osceola district public schools will remain closed on Thursday, September 14, and on Friday, September 15, to ensure safe learning environments for students and staff. At this time, a number of Osceola schools are still currently without power, and the district is working closely with Osceola County Emergency Management to stay abreast of issues, such as impassable roadways for school buses, inoperable traffic lights, flooding, and lift station concerns in the Poinciana area. The district’s Maintenance and Facilities Departments are continuing to work around the clock to identify and minimize the effects of Hurricane Irma to at all school campuses.
 
The district plans to resume school on Monday, September 18. Make-up days will be determined after a full review and analysis of school instructional minutes and state requirements.
