OVS is not offering courses this summer.
Osceola Virtual School uses the school district calendar for enrollment and completion times. OVS courses are offered from August to May. We look forward to learning virtually together again in August!
We thank you for selecting OVS, your district virtual school, and want you to know that you are important to us!
OVS operates on the District academic calendar. We look forward to learning together again virtually in August.
Part-time students are Osceola County students that are registered and attending classes at a local, brick and mortar school and are taking 1-2 classes with OVS. Virtual classes can be taken as part of the school day or outside the school day, and must be approved by the student’s school counselor. Part-time students can enroll during the academic school year and may take up to 2 courses. All courses are to be completed within the regular academic calendar year. Check with your local school counselor for details and course suggestions.
*Please note that virtual courses are conducted in English and students may not use digital technology to assist in translation during DBA's or Artificial Intelligence to produce their work. Per FLVS, the use of translators is not allowed. ELL students may receive extra time on DBAs and may use a heritage language dictionary for DBA’s and their assignments.
Osceola Virtual School recognizes that education of children is a process that involves a partnership between a child, a child's parents, teacher, school administrators and other school personnel. We welcome and encourage parental participation. We promote mutual respect, civility, and orderly conduct to maintain, to the greatest extent reasonably possible, a safe and harassment-free workplace for all.
"Please note that FLVS does not provide any Access Points of the Florida State Standards which offer modified curriculum and assessment options for students with intellectual disabilities or significant cognitive disabilities. Parents are encouraged to discuss Access Point options that are available in the district of record for students with significant cognitive disabilities who need reduced levels of complexity/reduced academic expectations to ensure successful student outcomes."
